She/Her/Hers

Heather Love, LPC, CPCS

Heather knows that seeking counseling can be intimidating, so she seeks to provide a professional yet casual space for clients to learn, heal, and recharge with humor, compassion and her own life experiences. With a practical approach and an ability to meaningfully connect with her clients, Heather builds on a client's strengths and identifies obstacles to achieving goals such as relief from anxiety, depression or just feeling stuck. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Empowering her clients to find clarity and work through ambivalence or difficulty making decisions, she utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and mindfulness-based techniques.

Everyone's situation is unique - from the stressed parent feeling overwhelmed by family demands, to the anxious teen worried about his future, to the high achieving executive wanting more balance in her life. Heather's skill in meeting each person where they are enables her to collaborate with clients to develop concrete strategies for reaching goals and attaining relief.

Heather's clinical experience coupled with her previous work experience providing school counseling/consulting and working as a physician recruiter and communication skills trainer enables her to customize plans for the unique needs of each client. She often collaborates with a diverse group of psychiatrists, pediatricians, internal medicine practitioners, and other mental health clinicians to provide a well-rounded continuum of care.

When Heather is not working you can find her playing with her therapy dog in training, CoCo, improving her golf game, traveling, enjoying the outdoors, spending time with her family, or cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves.
